My kids were so excited and shoked to see the snow. We do not see much snow during our winters and so they are not that familiar with the white stuff. And true to what or pastor said on Sunday, they closed down all the schools because people below the Mason-dixon line do not know how to drive in the snow!
Once everyone was ready and it had warmed up to 32 degrees (which still felt like 24), we headed outside to our front yard. The boys were so excited, they were going to build a snowman and make snow angels with the possible 1/2 inch of snow that had fallen overnight. I think once they got outside, they gave up on the snowman idea but they still attempted the snow angels (or should I say dirt angels-which was all that was left on the ground when they got up). After the initial newness of the snow wore off, Jonathan and Nicholas got their bikes out and started riding them in the snow. Then they broke out in song...Jingle Bells!! They do not understand that it is a Christmas song..they think you can sing it all year long if you want to. Laurie does not own a bike so Jonathan attempted to give her a ride on the back of his bike. It was not a successful ride though.
After about 15-20 minutes of the weather and snow, they said goodbye to Spot (our Jack Russel terrier) and came inside. Apparently, that little bit of outside play had made them very hungry so we ate an early lunch. Below are some of our memories from this first snow!

I would have loved to have had the day off to be there to play in the snow with the kids. And that's cool seeing Nick's snow angel and sweet that Jonathan gave Laurie a ride on his bike. :-)
