The Marlins win the championship!

Nicholas' little baseball team did it! They played a terrific season of baseball and made it all the way to the championship game against the Yankees. The game was close but our little team pulled ahead and won!! Nicholas and the whole team was so excited! He really enjoyed his first experience of playing baseball on a team. He now says that it is one of his favorite sports along with football.

Jonathan's big decision!!!!

Tonight, as we were getting home from Nicholas' baseball game, Jonathan asked me about a big question. He asked me, "Do I have Jesus in my heart?" I did not know exactly what to say to him but told him that we would talk about it some more during our devotion time. We had been talking about what it meant to have Jesus as your savior and I guess he had been listening. We had our regular devotions and when we got ready to pray, I asked if they had anything they wanted to pray about and Jonathan voiced it again...he wanted to have Jesus as his savior! So I told him that he needed to simply pray and ask Jesus to come into his heart and be his savior. He said the simplest and yet most precious prayer I have ever heard...and told Jesus that he wanted him to be his savior so he could go to Heaven and be with Him! I reiterated all the main points of the gospel and tried to ask as many questions as I could to ensure that he understood what he had done. I know that God heard and answered my 7 years old's prayer and that He is now a child of God!
Nicholas also started to ask many questions. I answered them all and when I asked him if he wanted to ask Jesus into his heart too, he told me maybe on the other day. He is still young but knows alot and I think will follow his brother soon. Praise the Lord!!

Jonathan's awards day at AMES

First grade awards were held today at AMES. Every first grader was recognized for their hard work and achievements this year at school. Jonathan's class did great as a whole and I could not be prouder of Jonathan. He was recognized for being on the principal's honor roll (all A's) all year!! I hope second grade goes that well too... Jonathan we are all so proud of you! I also received several of the books that he has written this year in writer's workshop. Guess what his favorite subject to write on was....club penguin, of course.

Laurie's new discovery!

Laurie Grace finally discovered the finger nail polish! This color she calls 'sprinkles'. There is a touch of glitter in this color and that is why she calls it sprinkles! I was putting on some polish this morning and she saw me doing it and wanted hers done too. I should not be surprised that she likes polish since she also likes makeup and any other girlie thing she comes across!

Awana Awards Night

Awana is a big part of our life throughout the school year. All three of the kids love to go to Awana every week and I work in the sparks area of Awana. Over the past weeks, all the clubs have had their awards night. The puggles and cubbies (Laurie Grace and Nicholas) had theirs last week, May 12. The sparks (Jonathan) had theirs this week, May 19. I was proud of all the kids; they all finished their books this year and all got awards!

Field Day at AMES

Jonathan's class had field day today. There were lots of game stations set up all around the back of the school. Each class walked from station to station and played an assortment of games. Jonathan's class had three teams and he was on team 3. Several of his friends were on his team including Chapman, Maggie, and Bowen. Jonathan played all the games and really enjoyed the tug of war, far more than I thought he would. Nicholas watched all the games intently. He wanted to be a part of things so bad. Laurie finally did get involved in one of the games...one that involved water.

Last 4k Event!

Today Nicholas, Laurie Grace, and I went to his last 4k event; a morning at StoneLedge park in Duncan. All the teachers were there and everyone got to play together and share a snack for one last time. Nicholas gave his teachers his end of the year presents today. He was so excited to give them their presents because he had picked them out himself. He got Mrs. Leigh a turquiose ring (since that is her favorite color) and he bought Mrs. Kelly a bracelet. They both loved their present and he was so glad! Both of the kids had a great time at the park and then we headed to lunch at McDonald's with Morgan and Erin! It was quite a full day but a good time was had by all!!

Happy Graduation!

Tonight Nicholas graduated from preschool! The program was so sweet and the kids really enjoyed the songs they sang. Mrs. Leigh, his teacher, presented each child and gave them a diploma. Nicholas was so funny accepting his award...he looked like such a grown up and professional student! I will miss having him around in the early afternoon next year. I will miss him being with me and Laurie when we go out to eat lunch. I will miss taking him to the ELC! But I look forward to hearing all about kindergarten and about all his new friends. I am also looking foward to the summer and all the fun we will have together.
I do want to thank Mrs. Leigh and Mrs. Kelly for being such great teachers! Nicholas has learned so much this year. I know he will miss you both!

Mrs. Leigh and Mrs. Kelly loaded up his tote bag with all kinds of goodies. They gave him a beginning reader book, his scrapbook from his year at the ELC, his journal, a pencil box for kindergarten, and a bag of candy, bubbles, magnifying glass etc.

Happy Mother's Day

Yesterday, May 9 was mother's day. The kids and I made several homemade presents for Nanny (Chris' mom) including some banana bread and a pot decorated with the kids' handprints. Since my Mom is not with us right now, we sent her some ecards and promised to celebrate fully when she comes home in July. The kids made several art pieces for me and I got lots of cards and good wishes from all. Jonathan was especially proud of a pottery piece that he had made for me in art! My greatest gift is that of my children and I thank God for them!!
