Since Wednesday was a bust as far as the beach went, we decided to spend the day there on Thursday. We headed out to the Isle of Palms county park about 10:30am. We met our friend, Stacy, at the beach and she graciously took some pictures of the kids. THANK YOU SO MUCH STACY!! (Pics from that shoot to come). The kids hit the water after their picture shoot. They played in the water, jumping the waves for some time before they started working on the sand. I have never seen a child enjoy the sand more than Jonathan. He even built a race way in the sand and played with his match box cars in it. Nicholas also joined him to make 'sand angels'. They were both nasty and covered in sand from head to toe once we got ready to go. But they throughly enjoyed the day!!
Even Laurie Grace who has been having a hard time sleeping while we have been here fell asleep at the beach in my lap for about 2 hours! None of the kids burned because I put sunscreen on them often. I put sunscreen on Chris and me often too but we DID burn. It was a little rough sleeping last night but we were all so tired that it did not make that much of a difference. All in all, the day was great. The weather even cooperated with a cool breeze most of the day and it did not start raining until after we left (around 6pm).
